Baywood PTA Funds
Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year! Whether you are new to Baywood or a returning family, we want to provide you with information about the Baywood PTA and how you can help make 2024-25 a great school year!
Why the Baywood PTA exists
The PTA is a partnership between parents and educators who strive to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of the students within the school. Unfortunately, public funding is not enough to provide the kind of public education our children deserve.
As a result, the Baywood PTA relies on the community’s generosity to help bridge the gap between state funding and the funds necessary to provide a high quality, well-rounded education for all Baywood students.
Fundraising Goal
The Baywood PTA has a 2024-25 fundraising goal of $700,000 to keep important programs and staffing in place. With Baywood’s about 500 students, this fundraising goal comes out to be about $1,400 per student. With the funds we raise each year, the PTA uses part of the funds for the current year’s operating budget and the net income funds the PTA Gifts-To-School Fund.
What is included in our Operating Budget
Our operating budget allows us to plan and sponsor community building and educational programs throughout the year for our students and families. Just to name a few, Fall Festival, Arts & Science Day, Talent Show, Science Fair, Family Math Night, Family Science Night, and Book Fair. We also help supply our Dream Lab and teachers with supplies not covered by the school supply lists and other administrative costs. Our operating budget also allows us to plan and run our two main fundraisers, the Fall Drive and the Spring Auction. The net proceeds of our fundraising and the operating expenses makes up our PTA Gifts-To-School Fund.
